Two nights, 20 piggeries, four lives saved

Over the weekend of 18-19 January 2025, dozens of activists investigated twenty Victorian piggeries, documenting conditions and collecting the bodies of dead piglets who had lost their lives at each facility.

They found sick, injured and dying piglets, sows with painful, infected sores, filthy sow stalls and farrowing crates filled with the bodies of stillborn piglets, who lay unmoving while their siblings suckled at their confined mothers.

They also saved the lives of four piglets, taking them out of cramped, filthy weaner sheds and to a new life filled with love and compassion.

The time for small improvements and promises of reforms has passed. The Australian pig farming industry has no place in a society which believes in fairness and compassion. It's time to shut it down.

Over the next few weeks we will be releasing footage from all 20 of the facilities visited this weekend, naming each one and showing the reality of how pigs are treated behind closed doors.

No more secrecy. This is the true #PriceofPork
