Volunteer with Farm Transparency Project
We're always looking for more people to help grow the movement for animal justice. Farm Transparency Project is based in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia) and runs regular events and protests around the state. We encourage interstate and international volunteers to connect with their local animal rights groups, as well as volunteering for us if they can.
How you can get involved
- Attend our events - We run regular protests, vigils, training and community events. You can find out about upcoming events via our Facebook page.
- Become a Dominion Outreacher - Dominion Outreach Melbourne runs fortnightly events in Melbourne CBD where we show footage from FTP's latest campaigns and talk to the public about how they can make kinder choices. You can get updates about these by joining the Dominion Outreach Melbourne Facebook group and by following us on Facebook and Instagram. Attending DOM events is also a great way to meet other dominion movement activists and learn about upcoming events.
- Share our campaigns and investigations - One of the easiest things people can do to support our work is to share our investigations, campaigns and videos with their own networks. This is how we can share the reality of animal farming in Australia to more people all around the world. Make sure to follow us on social media (Facebook / Instagram) and like, share and comment on our posts. While we understand that sometimes watching our footage is too much for people who already know the horrors experienced by farmed animals, interacting with our posts still helps us reach more people.
- Join our online actions - Each year, we expose the exploitation of animals at facilities across Australia. But we don’t stop there. We’re constantly putting pressure on government, industry and other decision makers to address the inherent suffering in farming and killing animals for food, clothing and entertainment and to take action to end animal abuse for good. You can join our online calls to action and send emails to government ministers by visiting our take action page.
- Organise a Dominion screening in your community, workplace or school - Bring the reality of Australian animal farming and slaughter to your neighbourhood. Find out more about organising a screening.
- Add to the FTP repository and map - Anyone can upload photos, footage and documents to the Farm Transparency Project digital repository, which provides a comprehensive look at how animals are farmed and killed in Australia and around the world. People can also help us by updating the Farm Transparency Map with new facilities, updated information about existing facilities and photos and footage. We all can be part of making sure that animal use industries have nowhere to hide. Get started by creating an account.
- Make a submission - Do you have information about animal abuse (illegal or otherwise) happening at a farm or slaughterhouse? Let us know about it by making a submission. Make sure to include as much information as possible to help us in our investigation. To make a submission, find the facility you have information about via our facility database or map, and then find the 'Submit Information' button. Alternatively, you can send us an email.
- Help more people see our exposés - Are you a filmmaker, content creator or graphic designer? Do you run outreach events or advocate for animals on social media? Do you have a YouTube channel or podcast? You can help us expand the reach of our footage and campaigns. All photographs and videos on the Farm Transparency Project repository are free to use with appropriate credit given. We encourage people to use footage from Dominion and from our recent campaigns in their own advocacy, and to create new content to share online. If you do use our footage, we’d love to see what you do with it! Let us know by email or tag us on social media (Facebook / Instagram).
- Volunteer your skills - If you have specific skills or ideas of ways you would like to contribute, please let us know by sending us an email.
