Hidden camera angle - pig shackle and scalding tank
Pigs are suspended on a 'shackle line' after their throats have been cut. They are lowered onto a tray and then tipped into a tank of scalding water, which softens their skin and hair before they are dismembered. Hidden cameras captured pigs still moving and gasping seconds before being dropped into this scalding tank, indicating that some would have been submerged while still conscious.
Workers were caught boxing the suspended bodies of pigs as they hung on the shackle line, as well as waving body parts around in the air and dancing on the kill floor.
