20 piglets laid to rest
They deserved so much more.
Over the weekend of 18-19 January 2025, activists collected the bodies of piglets from pig farms across Victoria.
During our rally on Tuesday 21 January, we respectfully laid out their bodies, along with images of the farms where they had come from.
On these farms they were treated without dignity. Some had died recently and were still in the same crates where their mothers were, others lay alone in the aisles, some were stiff or had begun decomposing.
After the rally outside the Victorian Premier’s office, the 20 piglets were taken and laid to rest by the hands of people who truly cared about them.
This burial may be the only time in their short lives that they were treated as though they actually mattered.
Because they did matter - they mattered to their mothers, their siblings and their friends.
They had a life that was their own, a life that they no longer get to live.
It’s time to end pig farming.
