Mating stalls - Day 1 & 2 (hidden camera)

Female pigs will be confined to mating stalls for up to a week while they are artificially inseminated by workers. Boars will be paraded in front of the pigs to encourage mating behaviour before a worker manually stimulates a sow by rubbing her vulva and udder and then inserts a straw filled with semen. This act is only legal because of an exemption to the crimes act which allows for the sexual penetration of an animal by a human if done for the purpose of animal farming.

Hidden cameras captured the confinement of these pigs for days at a time. This footage is sped up to show the lives of these pigs over two days.
