A cow in the knockbox - Cows are shot in the knockbox, directly opposite holding pens where cows and sheep wait to be killed. A rifle is used to shoot cows in the head, as a way of immobilising them before they are tipped into a kill room and have their throats slit. Footage captured by hidden cameras in 2023 showed cows being shot up to eight times, while still displaying signs of consciousness, including blinking. Other cows were filmed becoming stuck in the knockbox, and having to be forced into the kill room by workers, who used objects such as hammers and metal bars to force the cow inside. - Captured at The Local Meat Co, Claude Road TAS Australia.
