The footy club whose Auskick sausage sizzle has come under fire
A parent has asked her son’s football club to scrap sausages from its Auskick barbecue on the grounds of animal cruelty, the impact of farming livestock for meat and the negative health effects of red meat.
Sheena Chhabra, who describes herself as an animal rights activist on her Instagram profile, has also asked for the South Melbourne Districts Sports Club to cut ties with long-time meat supplier Ralphs Meat Company that is under investigation by the authorities after alleged animal cruelty was secretly filmed at their slaughterhouse.
