Consciousness

The Australian standards state, that before sticking commences, animals must be stunned in a way that ensures the animal is unconscious and insensible to pain.

Our hidden camera footage from this year, shows animals being improperly stunned and demonstrating signs of consciousness during and after their throats being slit.

Blinking, rapid side-to-side movements or the rotation of the eyeball, are all signs of ineffective stunning or signs of recovering consciousness after electrical stunning 👁️

This footage was recorded at MD Foods in Echuca, Victoria.

MD Foods is the 18th slaughterhouse we’ve exposed since the start of last year, with the goal of showing that the slaughter of animals is never humane.

We must shut down slaughterhouses.
